I haven't posted for a while. It's not for lack of things to post about. It's because I've been so darn tired . . . . If I don't have a migraine, I'm catching up from having had a migraine and can't seem to put words together into sentences. So, what is going on . . .
Christopher got a promotion at work, so we celebrated last week with lunch at Outback! That was lots of fun! He and Jenna are still going full steam ahead with wedding plans.
Lydia is teaching me enough tap dancing that I can take her tap class starting in December. It's slow going, but I'm making progress. She usually comes over on Thursdays so we can work together and then I practice during the week.
Minh, our exchange student, got to go today with Patrick and his mom to see the fall colors and ride the ski lift at Rib Mountain. (I had a migraine hangover and Lydia was here, so I passed on the outing.) Minh also got to experience homecoming this last week and getting pumpkins and making JackOLanterns last Saturday. She wants to play basketball, which starts soon, which will give her a chance to make more friends.
Noah's having a rough week. He's got a bad case of poison ivy on top of employment and car issues. Young adulthood can be a real challenge, but he's got some of us older folks around to try to give him some guidance.
I took the cats to the vet and was not surprised to find that they are overweight. I was surprised to find that Rory has packed on the pounds and has topped out at 15 pounds! Rhapsody is positively svelte at 11 pounds!! So, I'm going to try to go back to mealtime feeding and watching how much they eat. Right now, I've cut back on their food, but as long as it's demand feeding, Rory will eat when she's bored. And, this also means that I need to have some dedicated playtime for the kitties, as well.
I love this time of year. The weather is cool enough to enjoy being outside during the day, but with just enough of a bite to need sleeves. And, it's perfect knitting weather. Since I don't have a big project going right now, I'm knitting Christmas Ornament covers. I use fingering-weight yarn to knit a lacy cover that I put over a glass Christmas ball. They knit up pretty quickly and are very pretty. I'm going to be selling them up at Blessings on Main Street in Wega.
In other news, Minh and Patrick made the MOST delicious spicy molasses cookies ever last night! So good. I also made Chicken Tikki Masala the other day using the Instant Pot and this recipe. It was quick, easy, and delicious.
I'll update Goodreads soon so my friends on there can get some recommendations and I can get some new ideas on books to read and listen to. And, don't forget, Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas are right around the corner!!
What's up in your corner of the world?!
